Chats on the left, the conversation in the middle, the customer and their Shopify orders on the right. Three channels, one list.
Automations start conversations. The Inbox is where they continue. It brings WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and Instagram DMs into one real-time list, with the customer's Shopify orders beside the thread and an AI assistant that can draft replies, sort your chats and even create an order from a conversation.
What's in it
Conversations & filters
The chat list, unread and follow-up state, channel filters, AI badges, and the 24-hour reply window.
Replying to customers
The composer, quick replies, images, product cards, and template sends when the window has closed.
AI in the Inbox
Reply suggestions, Lead/Support/Ordered triage, and the order matcher for chats with no phone number.
Orders from a chat
The customer profile panel, linked orders, and creating a COD order without leaving the conversation.
Which chats appear
Every chat belongs to a channel, and a channel's chats appear only while that channel is connected on the Channels page.
Disconnecting a channel hides its chats — it doesn't delete them. Reconnect and the full history is back exactly as it was.
Real-time, both ways
New messages appear without refreshing, and your unread count updates live in the Shopify navigation. If real-time updates aren't available in your environment, Wapify says so plainly rather than leaving you staring at a stale list — messages still load when you switch back to the tab or reopen the page.
Messages sent outside Wapify still show up
If your team also answers customers from Meta Business Suite or the WhatsApp Business app, those replies appear in the Wapify Inbox too, marked as sent by you. Your history isn't split across tools, and a colleague answering elsewhere doesn't leave a chat looking unanswered.
When you first connect a channel, recent conversation history is imported so the Inbox doesn't start empty.
Automated messages in the thread
Messages Wapify sent on your behalf appear in the conversation with their own Automated reply marker — the COD confirmation, the review request, an automatic answer to a support question. You can always see exactly what the customer received before they wrote back, without leaving the chat.
On your phone
The Inbox works in the Shopify mobile app, and Wapify also points you to dedicated inbox apps for iPhone and Android so you can answer customers away from a desk.
Read-only on lower plans
Every plan can open the Inbox, read chats, and see the customer profile and order history. Sending — replies, templates, starting a new chat, creating an order — requires Pro. The interface says so in the chat you're looking at rather than hiding the feature, so you can see what you'd be getting.
How the Inbox connects to everything else
- Automations start the conversations that land here, and their button taps are visible in the thread.
- Campaigns replies arrive here too, with the campaign message shown in context.
- Analytics → Conversations reports reply rates, median reply time and how your chats were triaged.
- Shopify Orders — the ⋯ menu has a Message customer on WhatsApp action that opens a chat from an order.
